La civilización Egipcia, es sin duda
una de las precursoras de las matemáticas por los aportes que permitieron el
avance del área hasta nuestros días. La cultura egipcia trabajó a partir del
sistema decimal que utilizaba símbolos propios para cada potencia de 10, se
trabajaron con las operaciones básicas desarrolladas en los primeras dinastías,
además se establecieron medidas de
longitud, superficie, volumen, capacidad y se desarrollaron operaciones con
fracciones aplicadas a situaciones prácticas de repartos iguales y desiguales. Calcularon
el área de triángulos, trapecios y cuadrados. Gracias a los papiros de Rhind y Moscú se evidenciaron problemas
de álgebra y geometría. Los egipcios también desarrollaron la astronomía y
resolvieron ecuaciones algebraicas y conocieron el número Pi.
The Egyptian civilization is
undoubtedly one of the forerunners of mathematics for the contributions that
